In the trenches of my unemployment (or underemployment?) I was able to generate about $1,000 in income in March:
$300 from licensing investment articles
$700 from selling NVDA 0.00%ā cash-secured put option contracts
I also started a handyman side hustle and will report the results in my next post as I havenāt been paid yet, but so far it has been pretty promising!
So, in addition to my passive income of $559, I was able to generate about $1,559 completely on my own. I think this month I will actually generate enough to cover all my bills, which feels really rewarding and secure, but not as stable as a W-2 in some aspects. To be honest, the only thing I miss about a W-2 job is trying to invest as much of the money as possible. Certainly not the potlucks, RTO nonsense, or illusion of a ācareerā that distract you from the one thing that matters and canāt get you: financial independence.
Last month, I was working toward offsetting a software bill that I donāt think I will renew this year, so my next bill is my energy bill, which costs me $167/month. This means I need to get my passive income to $622/month. The main challenge Iāll have this year is that Iām generating a good amount of money from interest, which will go down and cannot be relied upon as I pay off cars and invest more money. The hope is that this swap into more investments makes up the difference and I donāt backtrack too far from my goal of covering all my fixed expenses of about $1,600/month. Remember, fixed costs are the first priority to cover with passive income as they tend to be the smallest, most numerous, and most rigid costs that will never go away for the rest of your life.
And another quick life update this month: weāre having a baby boy Bratto this August!
